One of the reasons I have been optimistic about real estate is my background as a point and figure technical analyst. I was a stock broker for years and learned this technique of technical analysis from Tom Dorsey of Dorsey Wright and Michael Burke from Chart craft. The bottom line for me was the charts indicated when sentiment was overly negative and started to improve by a measureable amount, that was a relatively good time to buy. It's been that way for a while now. Take a look at this Indicator. It's a good one and I think it may help you become more comfortable just knowing it. Did you know the best time to buy (usually) is when you're scared stiff. The best time to sell is when you're a genius. Do you remember Barbara Sreisand and her stock trading ability. She had to go back to singing when it was all over.

I remember watching a line growing in front of the condos at a local development. The sales office was mobbed with buyers.  That was a pretty good indicator for me that it was all over.  And it was. If you bought one, you know what I;m talking about. The best one was a seminar I attended by a broker who was telling us how to buy a home and trade it every two years. Live in it to avoid tax consequences. make 25-30% and become a millionaire in 8-10 years. I really knew it then. Now I am optimistic still if things are bought at good prices, but chasing something doesn't make sense to me. So check this out and call us if you want an opinon on a particular property. It's a little different from the stock market. Why you want to do something is almost as important as should you.
